Forbes Solar Farm
ACE Power and Osaka Gas Australia are seeking development approval for a solar farm and battery energy storage system (BESS) in New South Wales. The project would significantly contribute towards Australia’s net-zero emissions by 2050 target, and produce enough energy to power around 42,000 homes every year.
The Forbes Solar Farm has a capital investment value of more than $30 million and is deemed a NSW State Significant Development (SSD). It would bring significant investment to the local area during construction and would create jobs, diversify income, and increase revenue for local service providers such as food, fuel, and accommodation operators. Once the project is operational, benefits will continue with long-term jobs, ongoing operations and maintenance contracts, and the establishment of community benefit schemes.
